How We Work
A Clear Path from
Vision to Keys
Our Approach
No Surprises. Just Results.
Building a custom home is one of the biggest decisions of your life. Our process is designed to keep you informed, in control, and confident at every phase — from the first site visit to the day you move in.
Initial Consultation
Every project starts with a conversation. We'll meet on your lot (or by phone or video) to discuss your vision, timeline, and budget parameters. No hard sell — just an honest assessment of whether we're the right fit for your project.
This consultation is free and comes with a preliminary budget range so you have real numbers before making any commitments.
- Site visit or virtual meeting
- Preliminary budget range
- Timeline discussion
- Honest project feasibility assessment
Design & Planning
Through our partnership with Design by Slate, your architectural plans are developed with your direct input. You'll see 3D renderings and floor plan iterations before a contract is signed — ensuring the design is exactly right before construction begins.
We also complete a full site analysis during this phase: soil conditions, utility availability, setbacks, drainage, and any permit requirements specific to your lot.
- Architectural plans and 3D renderings
- Floor plan revisions until approved
- Site analysis and soil assessment
- Permit application preparation
Selections & Budget
Once plans are finalized, we build a detailed, line-item budget covering every element of your home — from foundation to final paint color. You see every number before you sign a construction contract.
We'll also guide you through interior selections: cabinetry, countertops, flooring, fixtures, and finishes. Our selections process is organized and straightforward — you won't feel overwhelmed by choices.
- Detailed line-item construction budget
- Interior selections workbook
- Allowance vs. fixed cost breakdown
- Final construction contract
Permitting & Pre-Construction
We handle all permitting on your behalf — submittal, county review, and approval. While permits are in process, we finalize the construction schedule, lock in subcontractors, and order long-lead materials.
You'll receive a detailed project schedule showing every major milestone, phase, and critical dependency — so you always know where things stand.
- Building permit submittal and approval
- Detailed construction schedule
- Subcontractor agreements
- Material procurement for long-lead items
Construction
This is where the vision becomes reality. We manage every phase of construction with attention to detail and quality control at each milestone: site work, foundation, framing, mechanical rough-ins, insulation, drywall, finish work, and final details.
Adam visits the site regularly and keeps you updated with progress photos, milestone notifications, and scheduled walkthroughs at key phases. You're involved as much or as little as you want to be.
- Weekly progress updates
- Scheduled client walkthroughs
- Phase-completion inspections
- Change order documentation if scope changes
Final Walkthrough & Delivery
Before you receive your keys, we conduct a thorough final walkthrough together. Any punch-list items are addressed before closing — we don't consider the job done until you're completely satisfied.
You'll receive all warranty documents, appliance manuals, subcontractor contact information, and a home maintenance guide covering your first year of ownership.
- Final inspection and certificate of occupancy
- Client walkthrough and punch-list review
- Warranty documentation
- Home maintenance guide
- Keys — it's your home.
